Catalog description

B-25 Ruptured Duck Nose Art Panel, part number VE004, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $279.99.

The B-25 Mitchell bomber was flown by First Lieutenant Ted W. Lawson during the famous Doolittle Raid on April 18 1942. After a successful raid over Tokyo the Ruptured Duck crash landed off the Chinese shore injuring many of the crew. The nose art of the aircraft was salvaged by the Japanese who put it on display in Tokyo.

This handcrafted nose art replica was re-created from descriptions of the art in Lt. Lawson's book Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. Made from aircraft grade aluminum and entirely hand-painted by noted aviation artist Gary Velasco this piece features the graphic and stencil markings for an authentic look.
