B-29 "Enola Gay" 1/72 Signature Series

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was among the largest aircraft of World War II. It saw limited service during that war being introduced in mid-1944. It was however the primary heavy bomber in the Pacific from its introduction until the end of the war. The B-29 continued to see combat after World War II still being the primary heavy bomber during the Korean War. An upgraded variant termed the B-50 Superfortress continued to see use in auxiliary roles until 1960 when it was replaced by newer jet-powered aircraft. This particular B-29 the Enola Gay was the aircraft that dropped the first atomic bomb during an assault on Hiroshima August 6 1945 and it's sister plane the Bockscar dropped the second and final atomic bomb on Nagasaki August 9 1945. These two raids are given credit as being among the primary reasons for the end of World War II.This finely detailed model commemorates the historic event this bomber participated in and would be a prized possession of any collector or enthusiast.About Toys and Models CorporationSince 1982 Toys and Models has created exquisitely detailed historically accurate replicas of aircraft.
