Great light bucket!

Dobsonian telescopes are recognized within the amateur astronomy community as offering an excellent value for the aperture size and Celestron's 8-inch StarHopper model is one of the best.

What distinguishes a Celestron Dobsonian from other Newtonians is really its mount. The StarHopper is a straightforward altazimuth system featuring a roller-track bearing on the azimuth surface. This offers dozens of support points to provide a smooth swiveling motion. There's also a variable-tension clutch system for good balance and control in both altitude and azimuth. And all of this makes Celestron's Dobsonian easy to observe - the user navigates through the night sky by simply moving the tube up or down left or right and all by hand. It's the same type of mount used by thousands of sidewalk astronomers.

The 8-inch StarHopper also uses optical-quality BK-7 glass and a finely crafted rear cell to ensure stability of its primary mirror. A two-inch focuser also is standard and the scope comes with a as well as an adapter for use of 1.25-inch eyepieces.

The 8-inch StarHopper Dobsonian offers stellar power and precision at a price that's strictly down to earth!
