Chestnut the Wooden horse is an old-fashioned favorite perfect for people of all ages! The horse supports up to 150 pounds and can be used as a kid's toy or as a decorative piece in your home. Chestnut is made from a ponderosa white pine. Chestnut has a rustic look because he is burnt and then hand rubbed with clear natural oil that is non-toxic to seal in the lasting rustic beauty. Key features of the horse are then hand-painted. There are no stringy fibrous materials to allow a young child to choke on as well as no padded seats to get sliced up or torn. Chestnut is also water-resistant which makes for easy clean-up and heat resistant. Recommended for ages up to 6 years. Chestnut is balanced so that when a young child is positioned on the horse he or she is slid forward to hold onto the handle to secure him or herself well. This helps prevent sitting back too far which could create potential falling. Chestnut also does not have a foot rest for a very young child to position their feet on. At a very young age a child's leg muscles are very strong and would give them the ability to force rock the horse and maybe throw themselves off.
