The new Clarity W1100 Amplified Telephone has the same features of the Clarity W1000 but also includes an amplifier ON button amplifier ringer with warble control amplifier ON visual indicator reset switch ON/OFF button (ON button will allow volume to reset to minimum level upon hang-up; OFF button will retain volume control settings upon hang-up).The W1100 is the first telephone designed to help those with high-frequency hearing loss a problem affecting 95% of the hearing-impaired. Everyone needs upper-range or high-frequency sounds to hear words clearly. People with high-frequency hearing loss can't hear sounds like st and ch so words like stair and chair sound like air. Just increasing the volume of telephone reception doesn't help because it amplifies all frequencies. Upper-range sounds still don't come through which just results in louder muddle.The W1100 solves this problem in a unique way. It features a built-in sound equalizer that selectively increases the volume of the high-frequency sounds.
