Catalog description
D-558-2 Skyrocket Model Airplane, part number TAM358, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $109.99.
Dropped from a Navy B-29 the Skyrocket experimental aircraft was the first jet to fly twice the speed of sound. Flying hundreds of times with three models this craft helped pilots and designers gain a better understanding of what would and would not work with a swept wing aircraft during transonic flight. Currently the Skyrocket is on display at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino California. This craft is made from select mahogany and entirely hand painted. The smooth finish and removable stand make this high quality model a welcome addition to any collection. Order today and get this supersonic replica delivered right to your door!
