Desktop Jenny Model Airplane
The Curtiss Jenny is a well-loved and dependable part of United States aviation history. Originally built as military training aircraft and used for reconnaissance in World War I the Curtiss Jennys served their country well. Jennys like this became quite common in the civilian market after the war ended. They became recognizable to the public by carrying mail from town to town and by their appearance in aerial shows throughout the country. In these shows pilots would walk on their wings and perform acrobatic aerial maneuvers. Sometimes the extra seat was offered to brave passengers willing to depart with a dollar or two for a ride. Scaled for desktop size this handmade wooden model is as detailed and well-built as the larger versions. The engine cockpit painted fabric and other elements are historically accurate. This set comes with two stands to uniquely display the planes. Two different extensions put them at different angles- one for straight flight and another for a slight bank. The black stand has an appealing crackle finish and the other stand is decorated as a racing pylon. Order this model for a fantastic desktop highlight no aviation enthusiast should be without.
