And the tightly woven cane material makes a stunning pattern. This jumbo rocker is an American classic and is as sturdy as truth justice and liberty. It is built by skilled craftspeople in the USA many of whom have ancestors who also built rocking chairs like this one. Using Swelled Joint Construction (a technique borrowed from Shaker design that uses NO GLUE) larger posts are air-dried 6 to 9 months and smaller posts are kiln-dried. This makes the small posts swell and the large posts shrink creating a very tight fit. In fact this chair will get tighter over time. Thanks to its interlocking joinery construction the notched dowels are nearly impossible to be pulled out. Stainless steel nails and arm braces ensure that it's rust-free. No shortcuts are taken in the craftsmanship of this rocking chair. Sit rock and feel the difference!
