Boyington was the famed flying ace notorious for his flying skills as well as his hard living. As leader of the Black Sheep Squadron he made a name for himself with numerous kills and legendary exploits. Lucybelle was allegedly named after a girlfriend named Lucy Malcolmson. This aircraft was never flown in combat by Boyington but was prepared for photo shoots for publicity.
This panel was made from aircraft grade aluminum and hand-painted by noted aviation artist Gary Velasco for authenticity.
