The Galileo FS-120DX is mounted on Galileo's Super Glide Altitude Azimuth mount. It's easy use up and down left and right movement is great for beginners and casual star gazers alike. It also makes terestrial viewing easy when the included 1.5x erecting lens is used. The Super Glide mount features slow motion controls in both axis for precision adjustments. The Mount is attached to a very sturdy fully adjustable pre-assembled metal tripod with retractable rubber feet. The tripod also features an accessory tray with slots to place 4 1¼″ eyepieces or lenses. Additionally the Galileo Multiple Ocular Holder is included enabling the user to quickly switch between 3 eyepieces simply by rotating the bezel of the MOH. The optical tube assembly attaches to the mount by an adjustable tube clamp which in combination with the adjustable counter balance weights ensures easy fluid movement of the telescope at all times. The telescope tube features heavy duty metal primary and secondary mirror cells. The focuser is a heavy duty 1¼″ metal helical rack and pinion focuser.
The Galileo FS-120DX optical tube assembly features a 1000mm focal length. The Primary mirror is a 120mm heavy duty mirror cell with push / pull collimation screws. The primary mirror is aluminized with Silicon Monoxide Quartz overcoat providing 92% reflectivity and a resolving power of .97 arc seconds. The secondary mirror has an obstruction of approximately 25% linear (approximately 6% of the total area). The optical tube assembly is diffraction limited at λ4 (1/4 wave in Sodium light). The finderscope is Galileo's Mars' Eye electronic Finderscope which helps by getting the observer behind the telescope without losing the surrounding field of view when targeting objects. Included with the FS-120DX are an 1¼″ 6.8mm to 16mm zoom eyepiece (42° apparent field of view @ 6.8mm) an 1¼″ 20mm eyepiece (52° apparent field of view) and a 3 element 3x Barlow.1000mm x 120mm Optical Tube AssemblyDiffraction limited Optical Tube Assembly (λ4)Galileo Super Glide Altitude Azimuth Mount w/Slow-Motion ControlsFully Adjustable Heavy Duty Pre-assembled Metal Tripod w/Accessory TrayGalileo Multiple Ocular HolderGalileo Mars Eye Electronic Finderscope1¼″ Metal Helical Rack & Pinion Focuser1¼″ 6.8mm - 16mm Zoom Eyepiece1¼″ 20mm EyepieceGalileo Planetarium CD-ROM w/Instructional Telescope TutorialOne Year Warranty
