Each rug is constructed of 100% New Zealand worsted wool and hand-knotted in India using Tibetan 9/25 knotting. Tibetan knotting is a process wherein a continuous length of yarn is wrapped over a rod which is laid across the rug while it is stretched over the loom. A knife is then slid along the rod which splits the wrapped yarn into two rows of pile tufts. The 9/25 quality grade indicates that there are approximately 56 knots per square inch.

Each of the Milan Collection rugs is put through a double hand-washing process to bring out a beautiful luster and sheen.
