The Dolphin is used by the United States Coast Guard for Medivac short-range recovery. Replacing the HH-52A Sikorsky Sea Guard this helicopter is used for drug interdiction ice breaking pollution control cargo and rescue missions. Without the ability to land on water there were still over 94 in operation in 2002.
