The focuser does not need to be removed before installation. The top of the case is not hinged. It is removed completely to insert or remove the telescope. The case is designed to be maneuvered like a wheelbarrow with the two retractable handle bars and two 10 pneumatic wheels. Installation of the wheels is easy and requires two 7/16 wrenches (or two crescent wrenches). This case is compatible with Peterson ergonomic Get-A-Grip handles.

Outside dimensions of the case are approximately 51 x 25 x 19 (assembled and handle bars retracted) and its empty weight is approximately 46.6 lbs.
