These Man Bookends are reminiscent of early Greek and Roman sculptures that featured the muscular physique of the male torso. These cast metal bookends finished in bronze reflect the classical change that occurred in Italian sculpture when the natural counterbalance of the body was illustrated by the bending of hips and legs. The Man Bookends are headless forms perched atop a white marble base.
