Meade 10-Inch LX90-ACF Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC The Meade 10-Inch LX90-ACF Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC does more than track satellites; it communicates with them. Once turned on the built-in Sony GPS sensor immediately determines the scopes precise date time and location. AutoAlign technology then uses this info to align the scope for a tour of the most spectacular sights in the universe. This amazing feature combined with the legendary LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrains superb design and industry-leading American-made optics makes it an ideal choice for serious stargazers.
AUTOALIGNFor added ease of use this telescope model comes pre-aligned through AutoAlign technology. AutoAlign works by choosing two fail-proof alignment stars and placing them directly in the viewfinder. These can then be centered for fine-tuning and specific viewing.
DIFFRACTION-LIMITED MEADE SCHMIDT-CASSEGRAIN OPTICS - Individually figured water-white corrector lenses and Pyrex primary and secondary mirrors offer superior light transmission temperature stability smoothness and correction.
OVERSIZED PRIMARY MIRROR - The LX90-ACFs primary mirror is slightly larger than its listed aperture. This extra size yields a wider fully illuminated field of view and allows you to see the light other telescopes leave behind.
SLEW SPEED - The LX90GPS slews (moves) from star to star at 7 degrees per second. That is more than twice as fast as the competition. This means that over the course of an evening a Meade LX90GPS will show you two to three times more objects.
RIGID CAST ALUMINUM FORK MOUNT - The Meade LX90GPSs Optical Tube Assembly is mounted on two sturdy fork arms. This allows for a rock-solid platform for astrophotography.
LX200 - SERIES TRIPOD - The LX90GPS comes standard with the same sturdy field tripod as the LX200R series telescope.
SMART DRIVE - Meades AutoStar provides Periodic Error Correction (in polar mode). Over the course of one or more training periods your LX90GPS will minimize guiding corrections during long-exposure astrophotography.
