All six shelves are reversible: Install them with the retaining rims facing upward to hold bottles and other tipsy items upright. Install them with the smooth flat edge upward when storing books towels or anything you want to reach easily. When used as storage bins the top and bottom shelves have 4-inch retaining rims while the four in between have rims 1 inch high. The four shelves also adjust to multiple positions to accommodate contents of different heights. Each shelf measures 22.25W x 13.5D inches.
