Piloted by ace Major George Preddy the Cripes A' Mighty provided the deadly speed and maneuverability that won over 32 air combat victories by the end of WWII. Preddy was a gifted fighter pilot and was on his way to becoming the leading active ace in Europe when he was shot down by friendly fire on Christmas Day 1944.
The nose art of this mighty Mustang has been extensively researched for authenticity of the colors and detail. The barber pole was added from its original position on the right cowl and reflects the part-time career of Preddy's crew chief.
