The P6M Sea Master is a swept-wing seaplane powered with four jet engines and incorporating a new hull design. Designed for mine laying and reconnaissance tasks and adaptable to other missions this plane initially demonstrated great promise for the offensive potential of the operating forces. During flight testing speeds in excess of 600 mph were claimed.
