Maintain a healthy vibrant fountain or pond by coordinating it with an 80 170 or 300 gallon per hour pump to keep water flowing properly. Having a pump with too little flow will give your fountain a disappointing appeal while too much pump flow will create spraying or noise that may be too loud to relax and enjoy. We suggest an 80 GPH pump for smaller units which will allows a maximum of 80 gallons of water to be continuously propelled through your fountain. For medium fountains we recommend using a 170 GPH pump. A larger pump that propels as much as 300 gallons of water per hour should be used for larger fountains and small yard ponds. Each pump is designed with a safely sealed electrical motor that is to be placed just below the surface of the water. These pumps are specially designed with a rotating impeller which sucks water in from one end then pushes the water through a filter before being returned back into circulation. These pumps are designed to work continuously. Shutting them on and off actually wear quicker than being on constantly.
