The Firehawk II from Putnam Hitch Products is not your average fifth wheel hitch. The Firehawk II was designed from the ground up to provide you with the ability to haul either a fifth wheel trailer (such as an RV) or a gooseneck trailer. The fifth wheel head fits over the gooseneck hitch ball using flexible polyurethane shells that surround the hitch ball which absorbs shock and allows the head to pivot on the hitch ball. To convert the fifth wheel to a gooseneck application simply take out the two hitch pins and remove the fifth wheel head. This unique feature gives you flexibility not found on other fifth wheel systems. Height range from truck bed to the hitch ball is 14-1/2 to 17-1/2 inches. The 23000 towing capacity does not change. Universal installation kit includes rails and frame brackets. Designed for trucks with 8 foot beds. Professional installation is recommended.
