It features a plastic handle and a chrome-plated brass filter that helps keep temperature stable during brewing. The brewing group of the machine is also made from chrome-plated marine brass which provides heat stability. Finally the marine-grade brass boiler has super-fast recycle time and a large 12-ounce volume.Easy to use automatic controlsThe Silvia operates via simple rocker switches on the front of the machine. One switch activates power and the heating element; another activates the pump and starts and stops the brewing cycle. Two other switches operate hot water dispensation (great for teas and hot chocolates) and the steaming function. To froth milk simply turn on the steaming switch and then turn the steam knob on the side of the machine.Temperature maintenance for consistent delicious resultsThree temperature controls (two thermostats and one high limit) help maintain brewing temperature and steaming temperature. The high limit control automatically shuts down the boiler if it begins to overheat saving the elements of your machine from damage.
