In hand-tufting craftsmen use tools called tufting guns to individually insert each tuft into its place on the rug's predetermined pattern. The tufts are then trimmed and sheared to the appropriate length. Hand-tufting offers high density a thick pile and a plush feel just right for sinking in tired feet.
