Himalaya Vines rugs are hand-knotted in China from 100% fine premium wool. Hand-knotting is an intricate and painstaking process that dates back at least three thousand years. First a single thread is woven through the warp or base of the rug to create a strong foundation. Then knots are carefully tied to the warp thread. A knife or hook is used to cut the knot which is then hand-tied. Finally the knots are secured and tightened with a comb-like tool.
