This machine has three switches and a control knob. The switches operate the main power the espresso flow pump and the steamer. The indicator lights will tell you when the boiler is at the right temperature and when the light goes on you can use the buttons to pull the shot you need. Once you've pulled the shot push the button for the steamer and use the steam knob to start the steaming process. It's just that easy.Quick consistent steamingThe large boiler size of the SL 70 lets you froth enough milk for two cappuccinos in just 40 seconds. The stainless steel steam wand swivels to accommodate pitchers up to 20 ounces in size. The standard tip lets you control the volume and consistency of the foam. The steamer wand also doubles as a hot-water dispenser for tea hot chocolate or soup.Everything you need for perfect espressoThe SL 70 includes a heavy-duty portafilter. The portafilter is the removable part of the machine that holds the espresso and is inserted into the machine for brewing. Made from chrome-plated brass with a plastic handle this portafilter features a retaining clip that keeps the filter basket locked inside when you're dumping used grounds. Also included is a pressurized 53mm stainless steel filter basket that ensures the proper amount of pressure is applied to the espresso during brewing. Finally the SL 70 includes a coffee tamper which you should use to level the grounds inside the filter basket before brewing.Using espresso pods? No problem!Included with this machine is a special espresso pod filter basket designed to hold a single pod of espresso. Just place the pod inside the filter basket put the filter basket into the portafilter and insert in the machine.
