This 3 bike carrier mounts conveniently to spare tires of SUV's. The rack has a mounting plate that is installed behind the spare tire and protrudes through the middle. The rack is removable from its base. A 5-1/2 inch long mounting base is available for vehicles that have a wider than average spare time. You will see this option during the check out process. Note: This rack does not work for Jeep TJ with factory cast aluminum spare tire or Land Rover models.
