The center post is made of powder coated heavy-duty steel and fits a standard 1.5 inch umbrella pole. This stand sits on 6 high-quality non-marking polyurethane wheels four of which lock for sure stability. This stand weighs 28 pounds when it arrives at your door. However the stand must then be filled with about 80 pounds of sand to support an umbrella. This is a great accessory to a patio umbrella. You could wheel it right up to the table or wherever it does you the most good.
