A80SS is Vixen's short focal length 80mm refractor. A great cross-over astronomical and terrestrial scope the A80SS is a portable solution for enthusiasts. Small enough to be mounted on a photo tripod for casual astro/terrestrial observing the scope also works great with the Sphinx mount on the table top stand. At less than 11" with dew shield in stored position the Vixen A80SS is the ultimate grab-n-go travel scope! The large 60mm drawtube comes with a robust 2" eyepiece adapter for wide-field eyepieces.

Telescope OTA comes coupled to our lightweight alt-az "Porta" mount. This is a highly portable system: because the weight of the scope is always over the mount there is no need for heavy counterweights. Standard Vixen dovetail mounting slot with lock and safety screw easily removes to reveal 1/4-20 and M8-1.25 threaded holes for custom mounting solutions. Porta mount features switchable slow-motion knobs tension adjustment hex key disassembly hex key built-in hex key storage bay round tripod tray and aluminum legs that extend from 90cm to 130cm.
