Enjoy the Twin Oaks SilkSpun XL Spruce Rope Hammock by yourself or have a friend join you for a relaxing nap. The solution dyed materials used in this hammock are the same as those used in popular hammocks by manufacturers such as Pawley's Island. You'll get the comfort of cotton with the strength of polyester. This material will not fade and it is mold and mildew resistant. This hammock is designed for two people and has a weight capacity of 450 lbs. You will appreciate all the quality materials and construction that has gone into this rope hammock.
The Material:This SilkSpun rope was created to simulate both the strength and the softness of silk. It is twisted from a fiber especially manufactured for the outdoor market. This yarn has hundreds more filaments per inch than our standard rope creating a denser smoother result. Solution-dying results in longer-lasting fade-resistant rope. The silky smooth SilkSpun product has an unsurpassed weather endurance and is mildew and mold resistant.
The Construction:The traditional style rope hammock has been re-constructed to increase comfort and durability. The body of the SilkSpun hammock features 50% more rows of rope and 50% more stitches per row than standard rope hammocks. This creates a bed with well over twice the standard number of stitches for a much closer weave. The result is added comfort and support.
About Twin Oaks HammocksTwin Oaks believes quality starts at the beginning – in every fiber of every rope and in every grain of every log. They start with yarn specially chosen for weather-resistance and colorfastness and twist it into durable rope in all colors of the rainbow.
Twin Oaks' spreader bars begin as locally harvested white oak logs which they mill and kiln-dry on site for well-seasoned outdoor use. The completed spreaders are hand-brushed with natural linseed oil and air-dried to maintain the beauty of the wood grain.
Macramé harnesses are made by hand and carefully measured and trimmed so that every hammock is stable and comfortable. Twin Oaks' craftsmen weave each rope hammock using techniques and equipment designed to be easy on the body and to minimize waste. Finally at least 40 expertly tied bowline knots complete a hammock that is sturdy and attractive.
