Take a step back in time with the Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with Logging Horses by Schneider. Beautifully constructed from solid wood with an antique stain this classic cuckoo clock features hand-carved hand-painted figurines of horses drawing logs across the bottom. The dial hands and cuckoo bird are also hand-carved from wood. This clock features a nighttime shut-off option and operates on an eight-day movement which requires winding once a week. About the Black Forest regionThe Black Forest region of Germany is a wooded range of mountains in the southwest part of the country. Bordered by the Rhine valley this beautiful region has been known for its production of classic cuckoo clocks since the mid 1700s. The bird call feature that makes cuckoo clocks famous is said to have originated in the Black Forest area.
