Both lighter and thinner than standard chef's knives the Chroma USA 7.5-Inch Santoku is ideal for chopping vegetables. This Japanese chef's knife features a straighter edge and a rounded spine and is part of the celebrated Haiku line of knives. The Haiku collection is Chroma's traditional line of knives inspired by the Japanese art of the sword smith and haiku poetry the meter and content of which are supposed to be sharpened to a fine edge. A bamboo peg or mekugi is inserted into every Haiku knife where the tang and handle meet providing added strength and stability. This knife is extremely sharp and should only be sharpened with a Haiku or other ceramic whetstone. The handle is crafted from exquisite honoki wood and the blade features high-grade modern steel construction.
