The F-84 series of aircraft was used as a fighter bomber as well as a reconnaissance vehicle. This version of the F-84 featured a swept wing design and was the first aircraft used by the USAF Thunderbirds. It also replaced the earlier F-84G Thunderjet though the G model was produced until the last day of the Korean War.
