Dubbed the first modern fighter plane the Fokker E-III showed that the Germans could build formidable aircraft. It was the first military plane that synchronized machine gun fire with propeller movement. This plane was produced in such numbers the Germans introduced the concept of flight squadrons. This model is made with stunning accuracy complete with stretched fabric over the handmade wooden frame and wires to support and control the wings. Dominating the skies from 1915 through 1916 this open-cockpit plane shot down many Allied aircraft.
