The McDermott Competitor Series Alpha Plus Pool Cue is a great piece designed for serious amateurs. This high-quality cue is constructed of hand-selected North American Hard Rock maple on the forearm shaft and sleeve. The forearm is coated in McDermott's imported European organic-pigment stain which provides wonderful uniform saturation of the wood and consistent color. The entire wooden surface is given a five-coat treatment of high-luster urethane for great looks and a greatly increased level of scratch resistance.

This cue features the exclusive McDermott Impact Control Ring made from a polymer matrix composite developed by NASA.
