What We Like About This Fireplace Mantel Lumberjacks cut a slab of basswood from the side of the tree then carved its front for a custom appearance. The wood's natural lines swirl around the wood knots and give the mantel an organic asymmetry. The top has a smooth surface for pictures accolades or memorabilia.
