Catalog description
ME-262 Messerschmitt Model Airplane, part number PCA242, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $159.95, up from a low of $129.99.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe (Swallow) was the first operational jet powered fighter aircraft and saw limited action during the end of World War II. German pilots nicknamed it the Turbo. Although often viewed as a last ditch super-weapon the Me-262 was actually under development before the start of World War II. After the end of World War II the Me 262 as well as other advanced German technology was quickly swept up by both the Soviets and the Americans.
Hand-carved from solid mahogany this replica has been painstakingly re-created to our highest standards. Every detail is hand painted and finished in a smooth gloss coat. This model also features a removable wood and aluminum base.
