Roscoe Turner's Gilmore Special was the third Model 44 present at the 1932 races. The NR61Y was the second Air Racer built for Turner after his first NR54Y crashed during tests. The racer presented a picture of speed for its Gilmore Oil Company as well as the famous red lion of its sponsor.
Our version of the Gilmore Special is crafted from select mahogany and given a smooth gloss.
