It lets you know when lightning strikes from up to 40 miles away. With each strike an audible alarm sounds and LED indicators light up to show a specific range of how far away the strike was. Ranges shown are 20-40 miles 12-24 miles 6-12 miles and within 6 miles. You can also tell storm direction too. When on press the power switch again and it trends lightning strikes over the last minutes and will show you if the storm is getting closer moving away or stationary.Made to be used outdoors it clips on your belt or slips in a pocket to easily go anywhere. It runs on three AAA batteries (not included) for over 100 hours. Other high-powered electronic devices motors and engines may affect performance. Simply move a few feet away from the device to return to normal performance.
