Catalog description
Swordfish MK.1 Model Airplane, part number TAM283, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $159.99.
The Fairey Swordfish was a bi-plane torpedo bomber used by the Royal Navy during World War II. It was nicknamed the Stringbag by its crews and achieved some spectacular success during the war. The primary weapon of the Swordfish was the torpedo and with its low speed and level attack pattern it would use this against enemy ships. It became somewhat outdated with the advanced defenses of the targets and it later became a anti-submarine aircraft.
This high quality bi-plane is crafted from select mahogany by skilled artisans and completely hand painted. The removable stand makes this replica a welcome addition to your home or office collection.
