The Fokker tri-plane is among the best known of the World War I German fighters. It was while flying the tri-plane that the top-scoring fighter pilot of the War Manfred von Richthofen known as the Red Baron met his death over the fields of France. Though other members of his unit painted their planes red all but the Baron were required to display another color.
