The Thunderjet was used extensively during the Korean War where it was used to destroy railroads bridges and supply depots. It deployed bombs rockets and napalm and was one of the first American fighters with the capability to carry a tactical nuclear bomb. This version of the F-84 was made as an interim aircraft until the F84F swept wing version known as the Thunderstreak was completed.
