P-38M Night Lightning Model Airplane, part number TAM311, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $149.99.
Early in 1943 the Fifth Air Force modified at least two unidentified P-38Fs in the field as single-seat night fighters by fitting SCR540 radar with yagi antennae on the nose on both sides of the central nacelle. The P-38M saw operational service in the Pacific in the last few days of the war. It was an effective night fighter with very little performance penalty over the standard single-seat Lightning.
