The Pasquini Livia 90 Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine offers professional-level features on a home machine. Ideal for espresso enthusiasts of all types this machine is a top-of-the-line piece of equipment that will revitalize the way you look at home coffee. Avoid high coffeehouse prices and make your favorite lattes cappuccinos and other drinks just the way you like them. The Livia 90 offers everything you'll need for complete home espresso system.

The Livia 90 is a semi-automatic machine which means that you control the amount of water that flows through the ground coffee. The water is controlled via the Coffee Brew switch on the front panel. The semi-automatic feature is favored by users with experience in brewing espresso since it allows you to experiment and adjust the water amounts to create espresso just the way you want it.

This machine comes complete with all the accessories you need to get started. Included are one portafilter handle a 1-cup filter basket a 2-cup filter basket a tamper (to level espresso into the portafilter) a measuring scoop and an instruction manual. Also included are two steam tips for the steam wand - a Teflon frother tip for those with minimal frothing experience and a commercial metal tip for those with more frothing expertise.

Outstanding features of the Pasquini Livia 90 Semi-Automatic Espresso MachinePowerful productionThis machine is designed to run just like the pro machines. Automatic water refill of the 1.3-liter copper boiler allows for continuous production while the powerful 41-watt pump and swivel steam wand let you brew espresso and steam milk at the same time - a feature not often found on home machines. No waiting for one to finish before you begin the other. No refilling the boiler halfway through your drink. Zero recovery time means you can continuously extract espresso shot after espresso shot with no waiting in between.

Easy to useA three-way solenoid valve inside the Livia 90 relieves grouphead pressure instantly after brewing which means you can quickly and easily remove the filter handle as soon as the shot is done. The built-in expansion relief valve lets excess pump water pressure flow into the drip tray avoiding over-extraction of your espresso without any extra effort on your part. This machine can be left on all day and it has a computerized safety switch that will turn it off automatically when the water level is too low in the reservoir preventing damage. A high 1200-watt heating element gives you less than a 10-minute warm-up time when the machine is first started.

High quality delicious resultsThe water reservoir of the Livia 90 features a filter that prevents particle contamination for better-tasting espresso. A true commercial heat exchanger pumps fresh water from the reservoir to the grouphead and filter holder. This means that water from the boiler isn't used to make your espresso resulting in a fresher taste and better results.

What does bar pressure mean?

Pressure is the result of the packed (tamped) coffee giving the water resistance to pass through. The pump forces the water through that resistance and the power it needs to do so is commonly measured in bar (= kg per square centimeter). A pressure rating is used on most pump-driven espresso machines. 9 bar the typical accepted pressure for brewing espresso is 8.8 atmospheres of pressure or 130 pounds per square inch. Good pumps should be able to create more pressure (power) than they need to produce perfect espresso so that they don't break when the right combination (fineness and consistency of grind tamping and amount of ground coffee) is not prevalent. A good pump has a capacity of creating 15 or more bars. To produce a lasting crema on top of your espresso the water should pass through the coffee at approximately 7 to 9 bars of pressure.
