Catalog description
Vought Vindicator Model Airplane, part number PCA109, is a discontinued product from the 2007–2011 catalog. It was last listed at $149.99.
This monoplane scout bomber was introduced into fleets in 1937 and nicknamed the Vindicator. The Chance Vought-designed SB2U-2 was the Navy's first low-wing monoplane that featured retractable landing gear. The folding wings allowed the Navy to use these high performance planes without reducing the number they could fit onto a carrier.
This vintage model is handcrafted from solid mahogany wood. The details are delicately painted to perfection and the plane is finished with a smooth coat of gloss. The wooden stand displays a Navy emblem and holds this beautiful model for all to see.
