The Jenny was used as a trainer in World War I and 95% of all pilots at the time flew in them. An early model J was also used as a reconnaissance plane against Pancho Villa's Mexican Revolutionaries in 1914 then in 1916 modified and designated the JN-4. After World War I many of these aircraft were sold scraped or given away.
