Adolf Galland became the Wehrmacht's youngest general at age 30 and claimed 104 aerial victories. He flew three 109s that displayed the Schlageter Geschwader insignia and his personal Mickeymaus emblem. Galland was awarded the Third Reich's highest regularly awarded military decoration: The Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds.
