The highest scoring ace of the European theater Col. Frances Gabby Gabreski flew his P-47D with Zemke's Wolfpack winning 28 aerial victories. Just before heading stateside for a well-earned leave he took one more mission. During a strafing pass his plane faltered causing him to crash. After days of evasion he was captured and made a POW. Surviving that ordeal he later went on to fight in the Korean War. Gabreski eventually retired and was known as America's highest scoring ace. This elaborate nose art panel depicts the markings and victory badges of this amazing ace. Constructed from aircraft grade aluminum this replica is entirely hand-painted by noted aviation artist Gary Velasco for authenticity and ready for an honored display.
