This experimental aircraft was used to test flight characteristics in the Mach 2-3 range of flight. As stability is a severe problem when flying at supersonic speeds the Starbuster was designed to investigate design modifications that would allow for a safe and stable ride. A tragic accident during a test flight above mach 3 terminated the program.
